Director - Mr. Thomas Kwan

Mr. Thomas Kwan has been associated with the Marine Surveying industry since 1969. He joined a long established Cargo and Marine Surveying firm Ms. Wood & Browne, as a junior surveyor and rose to the rank of senior surveyor being responsible for all kinds of survey work including Marine, Non-Marine, Produce, and Refrigerated Cargo and Pre-shipment Inspection of goods on behalf on overseas clients.

In 1983, Mr. Kwan left Ms. Wood & Browne and joined Ms. McLaren and Dick Marine Surveyors and Consultants (Asia) Ltd. as the head of their cargo survey Division. Subsequently, 1986 he joined Ms. Pierre Leong and Company Limited, a Chartered Loss Adjusting firm as Director of their cargo division.

Having gained invaluable experience and being a fluent speaker of Cantonese, Putongwah and English, Thomas felt, that the time was ripe to start a General and Marine Surveying firm in 1989, when he formed Marinasia. Thereafter with the help of two experience Master Mariners and two highly qualified Consulting Engineers, he established a full time Marine Consultancy to cater to the demands of Chartering, oil and Insurance industry.
